We love this place! The owner is so kind and friendly! The food is great! I had the vegan breakfast tacos. Best tacos I've had anywhere in months. So good I had them on the second visit two days later. Coffee is good but the nitro cold brew is a skimpy for the price. We love the ambiance, too. Enjoyable location to eat, ample parking across the street. We go to French Meadow every visit to the Twin Cities. They have great food and coffee, bakery items, and nice locations with comfortable seating in a welcoming decor.

Today was my 2nd time eating here and loved everything we ordered as much as my first time here. I had the Organic potato soup Bisque. So creamy, rich and delicious! And the french meadow side salad (which actually I feel was just ok, too small of a salad for them to charge $10.00 for) My daughter had the Sweet & Sour Tofu Bowl which I had a sampling of and nummy! Tofu was nice and crunchy and all the flavors married together so well. We ordered the Vanilla Berry Cream Cake and the Toasted coconut cake we both were happy with our selections and was a nicely priced dessert at $7.00.

Been to French Meadow twice now: first time was a bit of a subpar experience (had to remind about a coffee that never got delivered, then the coffee had a gnat or some other bug in it, and food was just okay except for the fries which were great) but the staff was very nice and I'd heard good things so I knew I wanted to come back. Second time was there this past weekend as a walk in - the hostess let us know when a seat yourself table became available as it was quicker than if we waited for a table we put our name in for. Food was enjoyed all around and I finally noticed all their dietary dessert accommodations! Dairy free and gluten free cakes?? Amazing little spot. Not perfect, not bad, but definitely worth a visit!

Great cafe! The ambiance is relaxing and the service was great. The coffee and tea are fairy prices and tastes great. We got the fries to snack on and the fruit tart for our sweet tooth's and I'm glad we did. The fries were not greasy and were nice and crunchy. The fruit tart was a soft creamy texture over a crunchy chocolate crust. We enjoyed our time and would come back!

Very cute bakery cafe and bar! They serve organic and sustainably sourced ingredients with an emphasis on serving slow food - how amazing!! I had the Tempeh Reuben was was flavorful - a little too salty for my taste but still very good. The salad and the kombucha were also yummy! I tried my friend's California wrap which was also flavorful and delicious! The fries are good in an average way. Some of the other reviews had poor service, but I thought our server was friendly and attentive! To get to the dog-friendly patio, you have to walk through the restaurant. Super cute with string lights and a mix of wooden booths and round tables. The restaurant is connected to an apartment building, so check the door to make sure you're going the right way.

It's been awhile since I've been to French Meadow Bakery and Cafe.I've frequented the one near Uptown and decided today after many years to try the one in Saint Paul. There isn't t much parking since they are near St Thomas University and its bustling area.Lots of other businesses. Once I got inside there was a lot of seating at 1pm.My wife and I were greeted with smiles right away.Promptly seated we orders some coffee while examining the menu.It is an extensive menu and everything looked good.Breakfast is served until 3pm y'all. All of the good cafe smells were enticing us to order quickly as our stomachs couldn't wait. After some suggestions we went with the Rueben and Turkey and bacon croissant. The bread was toasted perfectly on my Reuben and the homemade sauerkraut was made well.My wife and I swapped sandwiches and her Turkey and bacon croissant was yummy! We topped off the lunch with a lemon bar, peanut butter brownie and a classic brownie.Gotta come here for breakfast or lunch!

This is the location I frequent when I'm in town. (There's a second one that had a rodent problem, but this is not that location.) They were recently named best plant based food in MSP and I honestly question who they asked, because there are over half dozen other dedicated veg spots who have entered the chat and would like a word. Anyway, I tried this place because I wanted some vegan breakfast. Blueberry Corn Pancake was pretty tasty. It's one huge pancake but they only give you one little syrup container. I'd buy extra syrup next time. I veganized the Cajun Hashbrowns by omitting cheese and requesting vegan sausage. These were delicious, but not cajun. No spicy factor and no cajun flavor, but still very good. The potatoes were shredded and crispy on top, just like I like 'em. It was filled with veggies that tasted as if they were fresh from the garden. The sausage was good, but not the best. Overall, I loved this dish and would definitely order it again. Large portion! I tried a side of tofu scramble. It was gross. There's an extremely heavy (what I think is) vinegar presence. I couldn't stand another bite. Healing Plate - one of the healthiest and most delicious meals I'd had in a long time. Tofu, brown rice, greens, micro greens, coconut red beans and sweet potato mash (that were both insanely delicious!), topped with an accompanying dressing. I repeat ordered this dish about 3 or 4 times. Tempeh Tacos were very good. Excellent tempeh flavor! I also tried the vegan chocolate turtle cake. It was dry and stale. I informed the restaurant of this, via the square survey, and never received a response. I'm not a fan of ignoring customers when they tell you about a mistake. Surely, serving stale cake was a mistake, and an expensive one at that. Regardless, there are a couple of more things that I'd like to try on their lunch menu so I will return...eventually.
